Almost 700 meters long, it stretches north to south, from Sainte-Barbe street to rue Léon Gambetta, just before it joins boulevard Victor-Hugo to form avenue André Ithurralde. Always close to the seafront, it runs parallel to it for 500 meters before reaching the historic heart of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The north end of Vauban street is 80 meters from the ocean, the south end less than 150 meters from Ducontenia Park.
